BARUT Brewing & Blending

Three friends from a lab for yeast biotechnology. One derelict gunpowder warehouse. Mixed fermentations and oak barrels. TopshitĀ sour beer.

The Barut Brewing & Blending brand got its name, logo, identity and packaging design after a derelict gunpowder warehouse in which it was founded. All of its imagery is based on documentary photographs from before the place was renovated.

Pivo-man-blogspot, 9 May 2017:

Kamnik is gradually becoming the capital of Slovenian craft brewing. The most recent one to join the list of Kamnik-based breweries is Barut Brewing and Blending, which opened up in a former gunpowder warehouse. A hint as to the direction into which their story might unfold can be found in its very name (“blending”). Things get even clearer when one reads the description on their web page. They are three friends from a laboratory for yeast biotechnology. Thus apparently, we can count on them experimenting quite a bit.

Now, if we take into further account two specific phrases from the same description ā€“ mixed fermentation and oak barrels ā€“ we can be sure the scene is about to get considerably more special. All of us beer lovers will be able to dive deep into sour waters, or rather sour beer, and all the other concoctions that will be aging beautifully in the barrels and improving taste-wise and other-wise.

More information can be found on their web page barutbrew.com and on Facebook – Barut Brewing and Blending.
